LINE DIVIDERWe offer comprehensive healthcare to women of all ages, with a particular emphasis on reproductive and gynecologic health needs. Women’s health issues respond very well to acupuncture and herbal medicine.

Young Women

Younger women may have painful periods or other problems associated with menstruation. At any age, you may suffer from PMS, menstrual irregularity or cramping.

From a western point of view, menstrual irregularities originate as functional disturbances of the hypothalamus-pituitary axis (HPA), or the ovaries, tubes, uterus, or cervix.

Eastern Medicine, however, collects its data a different way; both having the same end effect as well as devising a treatment plan that will alleviate symptoms and regulate the cycle so it becomes predictable and pain free.

Chronic menstrual problems respond well to more long term care. Acupuncture combined with herbal medicine restrains heavy bleeding and relieves pain associated with fibroids and endometriosis.

LINE DIVIDERAging Women

For women going through menopause, hot flashes and night sweats can be greatly reduced to make this time of transition much more comfortable. Treatment focuses on stopping excessive sweating and restoring restfulness.

Stages of Menopause

Menopause: When a woman’s menstrual periods stop and she is no longer able to conceive naturally.

The periods can diminish gradually, or they can stop suddenly. As a result of the hormonal changes that occur during menopause, many women experience symptoms such as hot flashes – sudden feelings of heat in the upper part or all of the body. When they occur at night, hot flashes (also known as hot flushes) are called night sweats. In the United States, the average age when women have their last period is 51 years. However, some women have their last period in their forties, and some have it later, in their fifties.

Acupuncture CANNOT STOP OR SLOW the onset of menopause. But evidence suggests that it can address certain symptoms connected to menopause.

The connection between depression, anxiety, and menopause is complex. However, we do know that a loss of estrogen relates to a loss of another hormone, serotonin.

Serotonin: A natural mood booster and emotion regulator

Having less of it means that some women in perimenopause are at a greater risk for mental health conditions like depression. If you’re experiencing mental health side effects of menopause, such as depression and anxiety, acupuncture may help relieve symptoms of both.LINE DIVIDERWoman’s Health Problems
